What can be said about everything that is happening around us right now? We as a whole, with our neighbors, our families, our children have been living through an unprecedented time in our history. For the floral industry, I do not think there was ever quite a time of as much disruption as this. (not in my 25 or so years anyway) AND on the cusp of one of our most major holidays nonetheless. Whew!
It has been a whirlwind of an Easter holiday, and one thing that I learned from Easter. People LOVE sending flowers, people LOVE family. (well, most do anyway, LOL) Mother's Day is going to be no different than Easter. It's going to be "We need to create" and "they will come." I love this industry, I love how flowers make people feel, I love everything about them, with the imperfect perfections, I am thankful I have been blessed with being this type of artist, as I LOVE putting smiles on faces, and being that tiny part of the process that sparked a bit of joy in another human. I rarely am able to see the smile on the recipient's face, but I don't have to. I am just thankful I have been allowed to create for another.
